Fife District Technology Standards

 

The Fife District is working on aligning the six ISTE Standards for students across K-12 classrooms and aligning to Washington's Grade Level Expectations.  Select the ISTE standard to see a list of how each grade level can connect instructional technology to Washington State's GLEs (grade level expectations)

  1. Technology Literacy:  Students demonstrate a sound understanding of the basic operation and concepts of technology systems.  They are proficient in the use of technology and acquire keyboarding knowledge and skill.
  2. Ethics and Responsibilities:  Students understand the ethical, cultural, and societal issues related to technology.  They practice responsible use of technology systems, information, and software.  They develop positive attitudes toward technology uses that support lifelong learning, collaboration, personal pursuits, and productivity.
  3. Productivity Tools:  Students use technology tools to enhance learning, increase productivity, and promote creativity.  They use productivity tools to collaborate in constructing technology-enhanced models, prepare publications, and produce other creative work.  Students develop an ability to use word processing and graphic arts functions.
  4. Communication Tools:  Students use technology as a tool to collaborate, publish and interact with peers, experts, and other audiences.  They use a variety of media and formats to communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences.
  5. Research Tools:  Students use technology to locate, evaluate, and collect information from a variety of sources.  They use technology tools to organize and manage data and report results.  They evaulate and select new information resources and technological innovations based on the appropriateness for specific tasks.
  6. Logic and Problem Solving:  Students use technology resources to strengthen and maximum problem solving techniques.  They employ technology in the development of strategies for solving problems and making informed decisions in the real world.
