is committed to using the technology levy dollars to improve student
learning by integrating technology into the K-12 curriculum.

that use technology to connect with today's digital students.
Timeline:
In
February-2003, the Fife District citizens approved a Technology
Levy for $3.6 million. The money started to flow into the
district in April-2004. Here is an update of what has been
updated:
- Winter 2004:
- Spring 2004:
- Summer 2004:
- Fall,
2004: Discovery, Learning Opportunity Center (alternative
high school), Endeavour and Surprise Lake received 300 computers
for staff and students. Discovery and Endeavour still have
some older equipment that is still working; Fiber installed from
Library to Office @ Endeavour. SLMS Library lab received
new computer desks, chairs and computers; Endeavour Library lab
received new computers and chairs.
- Spring
2005: Learning Gateway Portal is designed by HP and Microsoft
Lighthouse Grant $125,000 plus tech levy.
- Summer,
2005: Two-five projectors are delivered to Discovery,
Endeavour, Hedden and Fife High; SLMS gym lab desks and library
desks installed; SLMS re-wiring completed.
- Fall,
2005: Repartee Voice Mail system upgraded; Special education
software ordered; technology maintenance contracts paid; Discovery's
computer lab received new computers; District yearly software
contracts paid; Wireless connectivity from CJH to FHS upgraded.
- Winter,
2006: Room 421 installed new network drops.
- Spring
2006: SLMS surge and circuit installed in gym building;
Fife High's fiber upgraded from 400 to 500 building; CJH wireless
completed with firmware upgrade.
- Summer
2006: Fife High School: Rewired 427 and installed
new CTE computers in 427. Discovery: Replaced some wiring;
Endeavour and Hedden: Added keyboarding software and curriculum
materials for 3rd-5th graders.
- Fall,
2006: Fife High & Hedden Elementary teachers received new computers. Discovery Lab new computers installed.
- Winter 2007: Fife Tech Team installed new fiber from Discovery to SLMS's server closet.
- Spring 2007: All desktop PCs on campus were updated to 1 GB RAM in order to run Microsoft Office 2007; Standard of 2 PC/Mac per elementary classroom are being replaced with a newer PC.
- Summer,
2007: Fife High: Library Lab & CADD updated with new computer desks, wiring, chairs and flat screens; All teacher computers across district updated to Office 2007; Most student stations in Grades 6-12 updated to Office 2007 (based on 1 GB RAM needs); Columbia: New PCs in two computer labs (with help from CTE $75 per FTE Legislative dollars); All new PCs for all staff @ Columbia Junior High.
- Fall, 2007: Limited tech dollars were spent on technology maintenance contracts; Milton server, wireless upgrades for Hedden, Milton, Columbia and Fife campus; and infrastructure/switch upgrades. Fife High Room 422 new CPUs $22,000. Columbia Junior High: Wiring for library lab and video room.
