   FIRST GRADE TEACHER

Essential Qualifications:

• Previous successful teaching experience desired
• Must meet NCLB highly qualified status
• Familiar with State’s Grade Level Expectations and Essential Academic Learning Requirements
• Ability to design lessons that are rigorous and engaging
• Appropriate state certification and endorsements
• Ability to differentiate instruction for all ability levels
• Knowledge and experience in computer applications are desirable
• Skilled in communication and team planning
• Experience working with English language learners
• Ability to communicate and work with students, parents, staff, and community in an effective and positive manner
• Teacher characteristics include:  flexibility, creativity, organization, commitment to ‘effective schools’ principles, ability to project enthusiasm and express ideas clearly, good classroom management skills, ability to use a variety of current instructional strategies, and a willingness to model behavior appropriate to the school district and community

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

• Current fingerprints on file with OSPI with results satisfactory to the district
• Sexual Misconduct Disclosure process completed with results satisfactory to the district
