Hedden Elementary was proud to welcome Washington's First Gentleman, Mike Gregoire, to our school on March 13th. "First Mike," as he likes to be called, visited our school as part of his initiative to read to a third grade class in every Washington county.
The students in Mrs. McDonald's class enjoyed being read to by First Mike and were surprised when he presented them with Governor Gregoire's favorite childhood book, Little House on the Prairie and a copy of the book he read aloud to them, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs. After he finished reading, the students engaged in a short question and answer time with him.
While at Hedden, Mr. Gregoire spent some time in the library helping with the distribution of the RIF books (donated by the Lions, Kiwanis, and Rotary clubs of Fife-Milton) and took a tour of our school.
