Lesson Design:

We cut squares into triangles and rectangles. Students arranged triangles into many patterns before gluing down their favorite. They repeated the arrangement process with rectangles before gluing their favorite rectangle pattern. While working on this project students used the names of shapes square, triangle and rectangle to describe their work.
