Ms. Krieger’s Class Recipe Book 2008-2009
My Math 2 classes are going to make a recipe book! Choose one of your favorite recipes- look in cookbooks, ask a parent, or go online. It doesn't have to be hard. Find one with five or more ingredients. (No chocolate chip cookies or brownies please.)
What First? TYPE out the original recipe and include the ingredients, serving size info, and cooking instructions. This will go in the recipe book. Make sure your name is on it!
Oops! After looking in the cupboard you discover that you do not have enough ingredients to make the whole thing. Rewrite the recipe (ingredients only) to make half as much.
Oh My! You are having a dinner party and everyone wants you to make your special recipe. Convert the measurements in the recipe to make enough for 3 times as much!
What! Choose one of the three versions of the recipe and actually make it. That’s right- you are to cook for math class. Have a parent or guardian sample it and sign your rubric. Then let someone else (14 or older please) try it out. By January 20th you must bring all three recipes and your signed rubric (which you fill out) to turn in.
NOTICE: This assignment requires adult assistance. Do not use ingredients or kitchen appliances without first discussing it with your parents/guardians.
